Luca & Paola

My name is Luca. A few years ago, my partner Paola and I took over my family's farm and agritourism business, La Quercia. The agritourism was founded in 1992 and was the first in Molise. The farm is located a few kilometers from Casacalenda, near the hermitage convent of Sant'Onofrio.

Immersed in the hills of Molise, our work ranges from cultivation to breeding and catering. We grow fruit and vegetables in a natural way, to offer our guests genuine products with authentic flavors. In order to guarantee excellent quality, we breed sheep, pigs and cattle and we pay attention to their well-being and freedom.

We prepare dishes that speak of the land of Molise, traditional dishes accompanied by a bit of inventiveness. Our structure offers the possibility of staying for the length of your trip in one of the rooms located on the second floor, which enjoy the beauty and peace of this place.

The philosophy of La Quercia has been and will always be the same: to enhance the products that the land has to offer and bring customers into direct contact with them.

The convent of S. Onofrio was one of the first 'devout places' that Blessed Giovanni Vici da Stroncone designated as a retreat convent in the years 1415 - 1418. After the Second World War, the convent was restored and enlarged. In the 1960s a new wing was built to accommodate church groups for exercises, retreats, etc. From 1991 to 2000 it was a novitiate house.

From then until 2016, the monastery was not accessible due to an earthquake, currently however, it has been completely renovated and is magnificent in its beauty. In the monastery, it is worth visiting the beautiful cloister, which interior walls show traces of ancient wall paintings in the lunettes corresponding to the arches. The church is divided into two naves and a sculpted stone balustrade divides the side nave from the apsidal chapel.
